The first date in history of the city Grenoble was in 43 B.C. Grenoble was a little village, with a strong wall built around it in 286 A.D.
Grenoble was first call Cularo; Then The Emperor Gratian visited the city and becouse of the peoples kind welcome to him, he made Cularo a Roman city and because of this he renamed it Gratianopolis(that means the city of Gratian) in 381 A.D. Then in the Middle age it changed to Grenoble.
